Need help with Holga!?

So I bought a Holga 35mm at Urban Outfitters a while back that I had greatly anticipated for but I really don't know how to use it. I put the right film in it but I don't know if I put it right. As I took pictures, it didn't really feel like it was taking pictures at all. I looked online for help but it was all very confusing because I couldn't understand it and I'm a beginner in Lomography. I really don't know the works or tricks of using a Holga and I really want to learn before I take a roadtrip to San Francisco so I can take some good pictures with my Holga. Please help! :)
